Happy New Year's (Eve) everyone! It's almost 2009!
So what's everyone doing tonight to ring in the new year?

Happy December, everybody! I love December, because it means that Christmas is coming up, and then 2009 is just around the corner from that. The Thanksgiving dinner at the shelter went really well. Thank you to anyone who came and helped out! We finished taking down the Thanksgiving decorations today, and tomorrow we'll start putting up Christmas decorations. And this year, I'll try not to help anyone with money that isn't technically mine.

I really wish I could have voted yesterday. I mean, this was a truly historic election. In 2012, though, I'll be ready to vote!
I spent all afternoon after school at the homeless shelter today, mostly helping out with the kids, of course. I know it's early to be thinking about Thanksgiving already, but we could really use some extra help with the Thanksgiving dinner in a few weeks. And of course, the shelter always needs volunteers even when it's not the holidays.
I will not think about Todd and Jess. I will not think about Todd and Jess

Todd asked Jess out?
I guess that would explain why he hasn't been calling to talk to me lately.
I know he's not my boyfriend or anything, but ... we almost kind of sort of dated all through middle school. I didn't think he even liked Jess all that much.
But I guess if he wants to date her, and they're both happy, then ... I mean, she is my sister. I can't stand in her way.

Today's lunchtime poll was a hard one. I mean, I love all the books on my bookshelf, and I always want to read all of them. I finally had to break down and go with My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, because that one makes me cry every time I read it because it's so sad, but it's really well-written and a beautiful story. Jess, if you ever needed my kidney, I'd give it to you. I have a really hard time choosing between books, though. I mean, I almost said that new Amanda Howard mystery, which I've only read once so far.
Happy Columbus Day, everyone!

To everyone at Forks who lost a friend or loved one in that dreadful accident, I am horribly sorry. If any of you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you, to listen and help in any way that I can. I was so jealous when I heard about that trip. It wasn't fair that it was just for Forks students. We should have gotten to go, too. But now I'm glad and relieved that we didn't, but then that just makes me feel selfish.

I guess there has to be a first time for everything, including Jess being the first one to make use of these journals. However, unlike Jess, I was taking the time to get my laptop completely set up and everything, as well as working out a study schedule for myself for the rest of the semester. Jess, we should work on one for you, too. You'll never get into a good college if you keep making grades like you did in middle school.
Hi, I'm Elizabeth Wakefield, by the way. Jessica is my identical twin sister, and we're freshmen at Sunnydale. It's usually not too hard to tell us apart, since I'm usually dressed more conservatively, and Jess is usually wearing something purple. Also, I'll be the one with her hair in a ponytail or something, and I'm the one who wears a watch. And now I'm babbling. Good job, Liz. We also have an older brother, Steven, who's a senior.
So, I'm really excited to have these new laptops, and I'm looking forward to getting to know not only my fellow Sunnydale students better, but also all the Forks students! I'm always available if anyone needs someone to talk to!
